Indianapolis jewelry heist suspects charged as adults

Two teenagers, Emanuel David Gonzalez Mendez, 16, and Angel Jose Pinto Guerrero, 17, are being charged as adults in connection with a $2 million jewelry heist in Indianapolis. The charges, filed in Marion Superior Court 29, include felony armed robbery, criminal confinement, resisting law enforcement, and unlawful handgun possession.

The heist occurred on August 10 at King Jewelers on Emerson Avenue, where suspects allegedly stole $2 million in jewelry and $65,000 in cash. During the robbery, the owner and manager were reportedly restrained with duct tape, though no injuries were reported.

Five suspects in total have been arrested, including three adults: Freibrth Adrian Jose Perreira, 31; Oneiver Alfonso Sambrano Garcia, 20; and Jonnder David Mercedes Martinez, 31. Authorities report that all five individuals are allegedly involved with the Venezuelan-based gang Tren De Aragua. The suspects were apprehended following a multi-county car chase on Interstate 65 that ended after a PIT maneuver stopped their vehicle.
