Indianapolis man arrested for fatal stabbing of parents

A man identified as David White was arrested after allegedly stabbing his parents to death in their Indianapolis home on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred in the 2800 block of Lakeshire Lane near West 96th Street.

Officers responding to the scene around 12:22 p.m. discovered a man and a woman with stab wounds. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man was transported to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died. Investigators believe the victims were the parents of the suspect.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department noted that their Mobile Crisis Assistance Team, which works with Eskenazi Health, had previously been called to the residence to address mental health concerns regarding White. Local officials expressed condolences to the community and called for increased scrutiny regarding how families facing serious mental health challenges receive assistance.
