Indianapolis teen arrested in deadly April shooting and crash

A 15-year-old has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting and vehicle crash that occurred on the east side of Indianapolis on April 25. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, a truck crashed into a building following the incident, requiring fire crews to use support poles to reach occupants.

The driver, a 29-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. While the 15-year-old passenger was hospitalized in critical condition at the time, investigators determined the driver had been shot, and the coroner ruled the death a homicide. Police recovered a firearm, video footage, and cash at the scene. The juvenile was arrested on August 7 and faces charges of reckless homicide.
