Indianapolis woman shares viral moment of losing longtime companion dog

Cheyanne, a 26-year-old resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, shared a viral video on TikTok capturing the moment she returned home to find her Basset hound, Sunny, no longer there to greet her.

Cheyanne and Sunny had been inseparable for nearly ten years, a bond that began when Cheyanne was 16 years old. Throughout their decade together, they moved through nine different homes and overcame significant health challenges. When Sunny was only 11 months old, she survived a car accident that resulted in a pelvic fracture, requiring surgery to ensure she could walk again.

In the years following, Sunny faced recurring back issues. Two years prior to her passing, a spinal issue required rest and medication, with veterinarians warning that further serious injuries might be difficult to treat due to her age. The loss marks the end of a lifelong companionship that spanned Cheyanne's transition from adolescence to adulthood.
