India's RBI Announces July 2026 Bank Holiday Schedule

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has published the holiday calendar for July 2026. On Saturday 18 July, the third Saturday of the month, bank branches across India will remain open as normal, except in the state of Sikkim where banks are closed for the Buddhist festival Drukpa Tshe‑zi.

Physical branches will be closed on three additional days this week: Sunday 19 July (weekly Sunday holiday nationwide), Wednesday 22 July in Tripura (Kharchi Puja regional holiday), and Saturday 25 July, the fourth Saturday of the month, when banks close nationwide. The RBI also notes that the following week (20–26 July) will see branch closures on 22 July (Tripura), 25 July (nationwide) and 26 July (Sunday).

Throughout all holidays, digital banking services – UPI, internet and mobile banking, and ATMs – will continue to operate without interruption, allowing customers to perform fund transfers, bill payments and cash withdrawals.
