India's Bus Operators Expand Fleet After Prawaas 5.0 Awards
At the Bharat Prawaas Awards 2026 held on 10 July in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Gappu Mahendra Travels Private Ltd was honoured as the “Best Large Bus Operator (Fleet 100+ Buses)”. The award was presented by the Bus & Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI) with Tata Motors as a principal partner. Company directors Ajay Singh Gil and Abhay Singh Gil said the recognition reflects the team’s hard work and commitment to safe, reliable service.
In the same ceremony, Zingbus received the Bharat Prawaas People’s Choice Award for Favourite Pan‑India Bus Operator. The firm announced Memorandums of Understanding with 50 regional bus operators to deploy more than 200 Zingbus Maxx and electric buses over the next year. The rollout will focus on high‑demand corridors linking Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai and Goa. “Travellers today expect better comfort, reliability and transparency,” said co‑founder and COO Mratunjay Beniwal. Zingbus aims to add 50 electric buses in 2026 and scale its electric fleet to 1,000 buses by 2030, advancing premium and clean mobility across India.
