India's Consul General Pratik Mathur Visits Shaoxing to Boost India‑China Ties

India’s Consul General in Shanghai, Pratik Mathur, travelled to Shaoxing in Zhejiang province for an official visit. He met with Chinese Communist Party secretary Shi Huifang, discussed ways to smooth bilateral relations, and thanked local officials for their support to the Indian athletics team during the recent Asian Relay Championship.

During the trip Mathur also visited the former residence of Chinese literary figure Lu Xun and paid tribute to Indian poet‑philosopher Rabindranath Tagore, highlighting cultural ties. The visit followed Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri’s two‑day trip to Beijing, underscoring ongoing diplomatic efforts to improve India‑China relations after the 2020 border clash period.
