India's CPGRAMS grievance system cuts disposal time to 13 days

The Government of India told Parliament that the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) received 1,520,576 public grievances between 1 January and 15 July 2026. The average disposal time for grievances lodged with Central Ministries and Departments fell to 13 days, down from the previous 30‑day target.

The improvement follows a suite of reforms announced by Minister of State Dr Jitendra Singh, including a 10‑step CPGRAMS reform plan, new comprehensive guidelines issued in August 2024, and a Review Meeting Module for senior‑officer oversight. An AI‑driven chatbot and digital pension platforms – Bhavishya for end‑to‑end pension case processing and Jeevan Pramaan for Aadhaar‑based digital life certificates – were also highlighted as tools that boost transparency and speed for government employees and pensioners.
