India's CSR ecosystem to hit ₹75,000 crore as Grace Cancer Foundation targets Social Stock Exchange listing

India’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) sector is projected to reach about ₹75,000 crore within three years and eventually exceed ₹1 lakh crore, driven by economic growth and higher corporate profitability, said Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, a former IAS officer who helped draft the CSR provisions of the Companies Act. The sector now includes over 30,000 companies contributing more than ₹40,000 crore annually, and the country hosts roughly 3.3 million registered NGOs, offering extensive partnership potential.

At a knowledge session in Hyderabad’s Yashoda Hospitals, Grace Cancer Foundation announced plans to list on the Social Stock Exchange. The foundation will create a Centre of Excellence for Preventive Oncology, deploy AI‑enabled mobile cancer‑screening units, and expand screening programmes for cancer and other non‑communicable diseases across India, aiming to leverage CSR funding and impact‑investment mechanisms.
