India's Cyber Security Association unveils AI‑Quantum telecom security framework
The Cyber Security Association of India (CSAI) released a strategic document on securing telecommunications infrastructure against emerging threats from artificial intelligence and quantum computing at its national summit in New Delhi. The framework offers actionable recommendations for policymakers, telecom operators and cybersecurity practitioners, urging the adoption of quantum‑safe technologies such as post‑quantum cryptography and quantum key distribution, and promoting AI‑driven threat detection for 5G and future 6G networks.
CSAI chairman Rajesh Pant warned that quantum computers could break existing encryption, jeopardising confidentiality, integrity and availability of communications, and called for a "whole‑of‑nation" approach involving government, industry, academia and citizens. Ministry of External Affairs official Ashwini Bhardwaj emphasized that telecom networks are globally interlinked, so vulnerabilities in one country can affect others, and urged international cooperation to safeguard the ecosystem.
