They explained that most of the alleged leaked material is unclassified and that the few items presented as critical stem from an older breach dating to 2020‑2022. Investigators said threat actors fabricated and manipulated the documents, then offered the outdated data for sale, motivated by financial gain rather than strategic espionage.
