India's economy expands 7.7% as Modi government celebrates 12 years of reforms
Union Minister Jitendra Singh said the 12‑year tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has turned India into an "aspirational nation" driven by opportunity, innovation and citizen‑centric policies. He highlighted the growth of the space sector from a $9 billion market to a projected $45 billion in the next seven to eight years and noted that the country’s startup ecosystem has risen from a few dozen firms to over 400 space‑related startups and more than 2.3 lakh startups overall, creating roughly 2.4‑2.5 million jobs.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh echoed the economic narrative, stating that India remains the world’s fastest‑growing major economy. Official data show GDP grew 7.7 % in FY 2025‑26 and accelerated to 7.8 % in the fourth quarter, with nominal GDP reaching ₹346.36 lakh crore. Both ministers attributed the performance to the "Reform, Perform, Transform" mantra and to the continued leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
