India's Election Commission Distributes Over 6.2 Million Voter Count Forms in Delhi SIR Drive

During the first six days of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Delhi's electoral roll, the Election Commission distributed 6,227,363 count‑form copies to more than 42 % of the capital’s 1.45 crore registered voters. About 1.44 % of the completed forms have been digitised.

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan submitted his duly filled count form, urging citizens to cooperate with the SIR campaign and emphasising the need for an accurate, up‑to‑date voter list. Former President Ram Nath Kovind also filed his form, which was received by the Delhi Electoral Registration Officer.

The SIR campaign, which began on 30 June and runs until 29 July, includes a month‑long house‑to‑house survey. Booth‑level officers provide each voter with two copies of the count form – one for the voter’s records and one retained by the officer. Completion of the form is required for inclusion in the final voter list to be published on 7 October; those who do not submit a form will be omitted from the draft list released on 5 August.
