India's Energy Supply Remains Secure Amid Rising Geopolitical Tensions

India says it is unlikely to face immediate energy supply concerns despite escalating tensions in West Asia and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. Officials cite diversified crude import sources, strategic petroleum reserves and expanding renewable investments that give the country a resilient energy network.

Industry experts note that India holds enough crude oil for about 60 days, LNG inventories for 60 days and LPG stocks for roughly 45 days. While the latest flare‑up in the region has pushed Brent crude above $80 a barrel and could add a $10‑$15 premium, the market is expected to absorb the shock without causing domestic shortages. No immediate policy changes, such as reversing LPG or natural‑gas easing measures, are planned.

The government and industry continue to monitor global market developments, including price movements and shipping conditions, to safeguard uninterrupted energy access for the economy.
