India's engineering goods exports jump 21% in June, Oman shipments surge five‑fold

India's engineering goods exports rose 21% year‑on‑year in June 2026, reaching $11.48 billion compared with $9.51 billion in the same month a year earlier. The United States remained the largest buyer with $1.95 billion of exports, while China’s imports grew 74% to $361.47 million.

Exports to Oman increased dramatically after the India‑Oman free‑trade agreement, climbing more than five times to $258.97 million – a 420% annual rise. Overall, 27 of 34 engineering panels reported export growth, though sectors such as lead products, IC engines and ATM‑related machinery saw modest declines.

EEPC India chairman Pankaj Chadha said the sector has adapted well to a changing global trade environment, showing strong resilience despite geopolitical uncertainties in West Asia and the Middle East. Engineering exports accounted for 28.4% of India’s total merchandise exports in June, and the sector has maintained shipments above $10 billion for the past three months of the current fiscal year.
