India's EPFO launches Aadhaar-linked portal for old PF transfers
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has unveiled a new digital portal that lets workers verify inactive Provident Fund (PF) accounts using their Aadhaar number and transfer the balances to their active Universal Account Number (UAN). The online system allows employees to locate forgotten PF accounts, view their full service history and apply for balance settlement without visiting EPFO offices.
Labour and Employment Minister Shobha Karandlaje announced the portal in the Lok Sabha, emphasizing that the Aadhaar‑based authentication will streamline the process, reduce paperwork and help consolidate multiple UANs into a single active account.
