India's EPFO launches EPFO 3.0 for instant PF withdrawals via UPI

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) announced the rollout of EPFO 3.0, a digital platform that will let members withdraw provident‑fund money instantly through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and an ATM‑like system. The upgrade aims to cut processing delays, automate verification, simplify KYC, and provide real‑time claim tracking and grievance redressal.

The initiative is expected to benefit millions of salaried workers across the country by providing faster access to emergency funds for needs such as healthcare, housing, education or marriage, and is presented as part of the government’s broader push for digital governance and streamlined employee‑welfare services.
