India's EPFO online services down for system migration
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) announced that several digital services will be unavailable for a few days as part of a scheduled system migration. The outage affects the Member Portal, Employer Portal, UMANG app and online facilities such as claim submission, e‑passbook, Electronic Challan‑cum‑Return (ECR) filing and UAN linking for new employees. Services are expected to be down from June 26 to June 29, with most functions resuming on June 30; the UMANG app indicated a restart on July 2. EPFO advised members and employers to postpone non‑urgent transactions and provided a helpline (14470) for support. The migration aims to move to a more advanced technology platform to improve processing speed, reliability and data security for millions of subscribers, employers and pensioners across the country. Earlier in the month the Finance Ministry approved an 8.25 % interest rate for EPF accounts, which will be credited later this month.
