India's EPFO simplifies EPS pension claims and orders profile‑photo updates

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced the EPS Scheme 2026 rules, allowing members to file pension claims online through the Unified Member Portal using their UAN and password. After completing the claim form, applicants verify their identity with an Aadhaar OTP, and the process is expected to be completed within 20 days, with interest applied for delays. Eligibility requires at least ten years of pension‑qualifying service; members can receive monthly pension after age 58, or an early pension after age 50 with reduced benefits. Forms 10D and 10C are used for monthly and lump‑sum withdrawals respectively.

In a separate alert, EPFO has urged members to upload a recent passport‑size profile photo on the portal. The updated photo is needed for e‑nomination and other online services such as PF withdrawals and pension claims. Failure to update the photo may hinder e‑nomination completion and delay fund transfers. Members are instructed to log in with their UAN, navigate to the profile section, and upload the new image, while also ensuring that other personal details (Aadhaar, PAN, bank account, mobile number, email) are current.
