India's Exports Hit Record $863 Billion, Fueling Push for $30 Trillion Economy

India's commerce ministry announced that total exports reached a historic US$863 billion in FY 2025‑26, up from US$468 billion a decade earlier. Merchandise exports rose to US$442 billion and services to US$421 billion, driven by reforms, digital trade platforms and a series of free‑trade agreements with partners such as the UAE, Australia, the UK, the EU, Oman and New Zealand. The marine‑products sector led growth, posting US$8.45 billion in seafood exports, with frozen shrimp accounting for over 66 % of earnings.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal stressed that expanding international partnerships is essential for India to achieve its $30 trillion GDP target by 2047. He highlighted demographic advantages, lower R&D costs in developed economies and the need to position India as a global manufacturing and services hub through initiatives like “Make in India” and “Expand in India.”
