India's foreign exchange reserves climb $964 million to $675 billion
The Reserve Bank of India reported that the country's foreign exchange reserves rose by $964 million to $675.16 billion for the week ended July 10, 2026. The increase was driven mainly by foreign currency assets, which grew by $930 million to $546.51 billion, and a $24 million rise in gold holdings to $105.23 billion. Special Drawing Rights with the IMF rose by $3 million and the RBI’s reserve position with the IMF improved by $7 million.
Despite the weekly gain, the total reserves remain below the levels recorded at the end of March 2026, down $15.95 billion year‑on‑year. Foreign currency assets have fallen by $5.78 billion and gold reserves are $10.17 billion lower compared with March, while SDR holdings have increased modestly.
