India's Foreign Ministry launches Snapchat account as it warns against false India‑China border images

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced the creation of an official Snapchat account, adding the platform to its existing presence on Facebook, WhatsApp, X, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube. The account will share exclusive stories, updates and other content aimed at younger, Gen‑Z users, and the ministry urged the public to follow it for accurate information on diplomatic activities.

In a separate communication, the Press Information Bureau, on behalf of the defence ministry and the Indian Armed Forces, cautioned that unverified photos and videos circulating online about the India‑China border are false. Officials asked citizens and media to rely only on official statements and to refrain from sharing unverified material, noting earlier claims that Chinese troops had entered 60 km into Indian territory were disproven.
