India's gold and silver prices fall in early June 2026 amid global market shifts

On 9 June 2026, Indian bullion markets saw a rally in precious‑metal prices, with 24‑carat gold reaching roughly ₹1,52,580‑₹1,53,600 per 10 g and 22‑carat gold trading between ₹1,39,760‑₹1,41,990 per 10 g. Silver prices also rose, crossing ₹2,45,600 per kg. The surge was linked to international geopolitical tension, a strengthening US dollar, and rising crude‑oil prices, which heightened inflation concerns and put pressure on the rupee.

The next day, 10 June 2026, both metals slipped sharply. Spot gold fell by about ₹2,058 to around ₹1,50,510 per 10 g, while silver dropped roughly ₹3,351 to ₹2,36,210 per kg. Futures on the MCX showed a 1.31 % decline for gold and a 1.40 % decline for silver. Analysts attributed the pull‑back to global price pressures, investor sell‑offs, and a cautious market sentiment as the Federal Reserve’s interest‑rate outlook remains uncertain. Retail rates varied by city due to local taxes and jewellers’ making charges, but the overall decline provided a perceived buying opportunity for consumers and investors alike.
