India's gold and silver prices fall sharply in May 2026

On 31 May 2026, gold and silver prices in India dropped sharply. In Delhi, the 24‑carat gold rate fell to ₹157,190 per 10 g, a weekly decline of about ₹2,020, while the 22‑carat price fell by roughly ₹1,850 to ₹144,100 per 10 g. Similar price levels were reported in Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and other major metros.

Silver prices also slipped, with the market price dropping about ₹5,000 per kg to ₹280,000 per kg (₹2.80 lakh) in Delhi and comparable rates across other cities.

Internationally, spot gold was trading at $4,556.84 per ounce and spot silver at $75.62 per ounce, influencing domestic price movements.
