India's gold and silver prices jump on MCX amid dollar weakness
In trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on June 11‑12, 2026, India's gold price rose sharply, with 24‑carat gold increasing by about ₹3,000 per 10 g to roughly ₹1.48 lakh. Prices for 23‑carat, 22‑carat and 18‑carat gold also climbed, each gaining between ₹1,600 and ₹2,800.
Silver surged as well, gaining approximately ₹9,700‑₹10,000 per kilogram. The price of silver for July delivery reached about ₹2.44 lakh per kg, up from around ₹2.34 lakh the previous day. Analysts linked the moves to a weakening U.S. dollar, which typically boosts precious‑metal prices. The price shifts were reported by the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association and reflected in MCX market data.
