India's Government e-Marketplace launches 10‑day celebrations for 10th Foundation Day
The Government e‑Marketplace (GeM) in India inaugurated a 10‑day series of events leading up to its 10th Foundation Day. The launch featured the unveiling of a commemorative logo and a concept film highlighting a decade of digital public‑procurement transformation.
Chief Executive Officer Mihir Kumar said the platform has fulfilled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a transparent, corruption‑free digital marketplace that connects businesses with the government. The celebrations aim to recognise buyers, sellers and other stakeholders while gathering suggestions for further improvement.
Planned activities include a Buyer Meet on 5 August, a Seller Roundtable on 10 August, and a year‑long outreach programme to universities and states. Distinguished participants will be honoured for their contributions to strengthening the GeM ecosystem.
