India's GST collections climb 14% to Rs 1.95 lakh crore in June
India marked nine years of its Goods and Services Tax (GST) system with the Finance Ministry highlighting extensive digital adoption: over 1.65 crore taxpayers, 192.73 crore return filings, 2,886 crore invoice uploads and 778.10 crore e‑Way bills processed through the portal. A Deloitte survey cited strong confidence among businesses, with 69 % naming digital compliance as the top achievement and 50 % noting benefits from the GST 2.0 rate rationalisation.
In June, gross GST revenue rose 13.9 % year‑on‑year to Rs 1.94 lakh crore, driven by a 34.6 % surge in import‑related GST to Rs 60,038 crore. Net collections, after refunds, increased 11.2 % to Rs 1.62 lakh crore, while total refunds jumped nearly 30 % to Rs 32,436 crore. The first quarter of FY 27 saw an 8.4 % rise in cumulative gross GST to Rs 6.32 lakh crore.
