India's ICAI launches Global Orbit Summit to boost GCC sector
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) inaugurated the first ICAI Global Orbit Summit 2026 in New Delhi on July 13. The event, hosted by the Northern Indian Regional Council of ICAI, was opened by ICAI President CA Prasanna Kumar D and featured leaders such as CA Charanjot Singh Nanda, CA Sanjib Sanghi and CA Sanjeev Kumar Singhal. Under the theme “ICAI Global Orbit: From GCCs to Global Leadership”, the summit aims to strengthen India’s position as a global hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
ICAI cited that India hosts more than 2,100 GCCs, employing roughly 2.36 million professionals and generating close to USD 100 billion in annual revenue. Speakers discussed finance innovation, AI, data privacy, ESG, cybersecurity, talent development and other topics to enhance the competitiveness of the GCC ecosystem. The summit is the first of a nationwide series, with upcoming editions scheduled in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai later in 2026 and early 2027. Partners include the Services Export Promotion Council, International Financial Services Centres Authority, National Forensic Sciences University, National Skill Development Corporation and IIM Sambalpur.
