India's investment sector sees regulatory push and AI-driven platform launch

A senior SEBI official told an industry conclave that India's portfolio management services (PMS) industry, which handles assets of about Rs 42 lakh crore and serves over 2.1 lakh investors, is at a defining inflection point. The official emphasized the need for greater transparency, governance and investor protection to help the sector become a major pillar of the country's investment ecosystem.

At the same time, entrepreneur Kanisk Bora announced the development of Capitalkytics, an AI‑powered investment intelligence platform aimed at unifying portfolio tracking, market analytics and AI‑driven insights for retail investors. The platform plans to cover Indian and US stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, bonds and global indices, and includes an “AI CFO” assistant to help users analyse portfolios and market movements.
