India's Jaishankar reaffirms ties with Fiji on Independence Day

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar extended greetings to the government and people of Fiji on the occasion of their Independence Day. In a message to Fiji’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sakiasi Ditoka, Jaishankar reaffirmed India’s commitment to deepening the long-standing bilateral relationship and enduring friendship between the two nations.

This diplomatic outreach follows recent engagements at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, where Jaishankar met with Ditoka and other Pacific Island leaders. Additionally, the second Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting was recently held, focusing on strengthening partnerships through cooperation in renewable energy, climate action, disaster resilience, education, healthcare, and capacity building.
