India's Jasprit Bumrah highlighted as key to 2027 ODI World Cup success

Former India captain Kris Srikkanth said fast‑bowler Jasprit Bumrah is the nation’s "uncut diamond" for the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa, stressing that "workload management of Bumrah is going to be very important heading into the World Cup. He is India’s uncut diamond." He added that Bumrah’s fitness could determine India’s chances of lifting the trophy.

Srikkanth also backed veteran all‑rounder Ravindra Jadeja, questioning his omission and stating, "I am not sure why Ravindra Jadeja has been totally let go… He should be in the scheme of things." He suggested India travel with three specialist spinners – Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and a third to be decided later – while expressing doubt about Washington Sundar’s suitability for the limited‑overs format.
