India June 30 2026 deadline for LPG e‑KYC, ITR scrutiny and other financial tasks

The Indian government has set June 30 2026 as the final date for several financial and legal requirements. LPG subsidy beneficiaries, including Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) users, must complete Aadhaar‑based e‑KYC by this deadline; otherwise, direct subsidy payments to their bank accounts will cease, though cylinder delivery will continue.

For income‑tax returns filed for FY 2025‑26, June 30 is the last day the Income Tax Department can issue scrutiny notices under Section 143(2). Taxpayers who have already filed must respond promptly to any notice received.

Additional deadlines coincide with this date: passport fee increases become effective on July 1, new railway “Jan Vishwas” penalties are introduced, and businesses must finalize quarter‑end GST, TDS and TCS filings before the July 7 deadline. Missing these deadlines can lead to financial penalties, increased costs, or loss of subsidies.
