India's Kirti Vardhan Singh visits Côte d'Ivoire to strengthen bilateral ties

Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh conducted an official visit to Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, from August 6 to 8, 2026. Invited as the Guest of Honour for the country's 66th National Day, Singh attended the celebrations and observed an Indian Armed Forces marching contingent during the National Day Parade.

During the visit, Singh held substantive bilateral discussions with Niale Kaba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and met with President Alassane Ouattara. The talks focused on a wide range of bilateral interests, including economic and development partnerships, defense and security cooperation, and people-to-people ties. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their multifaceted partnership.

Additionally, the Minister interacted with the Indian diaspora in Abidjan, acknowledging their role in fostering friendship between the two nations and reiterating the Indian government's commitment to the welfare of its citizens abroad. The visit is viewed as a step toward consolidating momentum in India's broader engagement with the African continent.
