India's LNG vessel Disha completes safe passage through Strait of Hormuz

The Indian-flagged LNG carrier Disha safely transited the Strait of Hormuz on 15 June, becoming the first Indian‑flagged LNG vessel to exit the war zone in more than three months. The ship carries 62,370 metric tonnes of LNG and is expected to reach Dahej, Gujarat on 18 June.

India’s Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways coordinated the voyage, operating a control room that handled over 12,700 calls and 28,300 emails since activation. The Directorate General of Shipping has repatriated more than 3,587 Indian seafarers, including 50 in the preceding 96 hours. Domestic port operations remain normal and the government assures uninterrupted supply of LPG, PNG and CNG for vehicles and priority delivery to hospitals, schools and industry.
