India's Mission Karmayogi iGOT platform registers 17 million civil servants
The iGOT Karmayogi platform, created under the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building – Mission Karmayogi, has been rolled out to all Union ministries, state and union territory governments. It now hosts more than 1.7 crore (17 million) registered users and offers over 5,600 courses in 23 Indian languages, covering functional, behavioural and domain competencies.
The programme, approved in September 2020, aims to shift the civil service HR system from a rule‑based to a role‑based model. AI‑driven tools such as iGOT AI Tutor, AI Sarthi and the AI‑CBP tool have been added, and 218 courses focus on artificial‑intelligence and emerging technologies. To date the portal records over 7.3 crore enrolments, more than 3.35 crore course completions and has issued over 14,000 certificates. Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh highlighted the platform’s role in building a globally‑oriented yet Indian‑rooted civil service.
