India's NewEra Hospital and Medicover Introduce Advanced Orthopedic Tech

NewEra Hospital in Nagpur inaugurated a suite of advanced orthopedic services, including robotic joint replacement, minimally invasive and fast‑track surgeries, sports‑injury treatment and trauma care. The facility features state‑of‑the‑art operation theatres, critical care units, modern imaging and a dedicated ambulance service. Dr Alankar Ramteke said, “We feel happy and proud to offer to Nagpur and Central India – Advanced Orthopedic Care…”.

At Medicover Hospital in Hyderabad, surgeons performed a knee‑preserving operation on a 28‑year‑old doctor using an indigenously developed high tibial osteotomy (HTO) implant created by Sironix, combined with autologous chondrocyte implantation. Dr Raghuveer Reddy, who helped design the implant, noted, “Not every painful knee needs replacement. In patients below 55 years with early arthritis, the right intervention can help preserve the natural knee.” The procedure aims to reduce reliance on imported joint‑preservation systems.
