India's NIA raids six sites in Cambodia-linked human trafficking case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out searches at six locations across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi as part of a probe into a human‑trafficking and cyber‑slavery network that routes Indian youth to Cambodia. The operation targeted premises tied to the alleged mastermind, Anand Kumar Singh alias Munna Singh, and his four associates, resulting in the seizure of smartphones, laptops, digital devices and incriminating documents.
Investigators say the syndicate lured vulnerable young Indians with false promises of well‑paid jobs, confiscated their passports and trafficked them to scam companies in Cambodia. Victims reported being forced to work under threats of electric shocks, confinement and denial of food and water. Earlier arrests in February saw three of Singh’s aides detained in Delhi after returning from Cambodia. The NIA said its efforts to locate the absconding leaders and dismantle the network are ongoing.
