India's North-East States Prepare for Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 Flag Campaign

The district administration of Tawang finalized an extensive programme for the Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 campaign, scheduling flag hoisting at every household from August 9 and a series of events—including a Tiranga Yatra, bike and cycle rallies, exhibitions on Partition horrors, and a mass rendition of Vande Mataram—through August 15. Responsibilities were assigned to government departments, schools, security agencies and the 190 Mountain Brigade to ensure smooth conduct.

In Nagaland, the Home Department completed its preparations for the same campaign, planning activities from August 9 to 17. The Directorate General of Police will lead a large Tiranga rally, while the Art and Culture Department will display a digital exhibition at public venues. Cycle and e‑bike rallies will be coordinated across districts, and the state has requested 1.6 lakh national flags to be procured through the Department of Posts, with distribution overseen by the Deputy Commissioner and police headquarters. Media outreach will encourage citizens to upload "Selfie with Tiranga" photos to the official portal.
