India's petrol and diesel prices unchanged on 8 August 2026

On 8 August 2026 the retail prices of petrol and diesel remained steady across India’s major cities. In Delhi petrol was ₹102.12 per litre and diesel ₹95.20 per litre. Mumbai recorded the highest petrol price at ₹111.18 per litre and diesel at ₹97.83 per litre, while Hyderabad posted the highest diesel price at ₹103.82 per litre. Chennai’s rates stayed at ₹107.77 for petrol and ₹99.55 for diesel. The lowest fuel cost was observed in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, where petrol sold for ₹88.66 per litre and diesel for ₹84.56 per litre.

The prices have not changed for more than two months despite fluctuations in global crude‑oil markets, which saw a modest rise of about 1.3 % to $83.55 per barrel on the international market. The last domestic price increase occurred on 25 May 2026, bringing cumulative hikes since mid‑May to roughly ₹7.5 per litre. Daily price revisions are issued each morning by state‑run oil marketing companies, but the current cycle shows no further adjustments.
