India’s pharma manufacturing and genomics industries target rapid expansion

Vibcare Healthcare, a WHO‑GMP‑certified contract manufacturer based in India, offers a full suite of dosage‑form production including tablets, capsules, oral liquids and external preparations. With more than 1,500 approved formulations and a large‑scale infrastructure, the company supports both domestic and international pharmaceutical brands, handling documentation, stability testing and regulatory compliance. A company representative said, “We focus on providing trusted manufacturing solutions, which are based on quality, integrity, and scalability.”

A separate industry report highlights India’s strategic position to lead the global genomics revolution amid a projected $300 billion wave of patent expiries on biologics, gene therapies and precision‑oncology drugs. India hosts the most WHO‑certified pharma plants worldwide and is building capabilities through the Biopharma Shakti scheme and the Genome India Project, which aims to map 10,000 genomes across 99 ethnic groups. AI‑driven drug discovery is compressing development timelines, while biopharma mergers and acquisitions reached $106 billion in the first half of 2026, signaling strong investor interest in the sector.
