India's PM Narendra Modi launches 2,400 crore youth incentive under employment scheme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that more than 1.5 million beneficiaries have received a total of 2,400 crore rupees in incentives under the Prime Minister Developed India Employment Scheme (PM‑VBRY). The funds were transferred directly to accounts via the Direct Benefit Transfer system across 200 industrial clusters nationwide. The programme is intended to act as a bridge between first‑time job seekers and industry, and has so far generated roughly 7 million jobs, provided social‑security coverage to first‑time employees, and helped about 2 million young people complete six months in their first job, with around 1 million receiving the incentive. During the event, Modi referenced his recent meetings with G7 leaders in France and Slovakia, noting that India's youth talent is gaining global attention.
