India’s network of Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 10,177 crore for FY 2025‑26, the highest ever recorded. The profitability surge was accompanied by improvements across key financial metrics: capital-to‑risk‑weighted‑asset ratio (CRAR) rose to 15 percent, total deposits grew to Rs 7,68,621 crore, advances increased to Rs 5,78,349 crore, and the credit‑deposit ratio reached 75.2 percent. Asset quality improved as gross non‑performing assets fell to about 5.3 percent and net NPAs to roughly 2 percent. Net worth climbed to Rs 74,086 crore. The Ministry of Finance, through Minister of State Pankaj Chaudhary, said the Union government regularly reviews RRB performance and monitors progress on financial‑inclusion schemes such as PMJDY, PMMY, PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY.
