India's Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli doubtful for Afghanistan ODI series

Rohit, who is recovering from a hamstring strain suffered during IPL 2026, has not yet reported to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for the required medical clearance. Kohli, also sidelined by a hamstring injury incurred in the IPL final, is reported to be ruled out of the series.

Both players were named in the squad on the condition that they pass fitness assessments. Hardik Pandya has already reported for testing, while selectors may need to consider younger options such as Yashasvi Jaiswal if Sharma and Kohli are unavailable.
