India's Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya honors Commonwealth Games boxing, judo and para‑athletics medallists

Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya held a felicitation ceremony in New Delhi for Indian athletes returning from the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow. He presented cash awards of Rs 30 lakh to each gold medallist, Rs 20 lakh to silver medallists and Rs 10 lakh to bronze medallists.

The ceremony honoured the boxing contingent, which secured ten medals (seven gold, three silver), the judo team with four medals including two historic golds, and the para‑athletics squad for a watershed performance. Mandaviya urged the athletes to mentor the next generation, consider establishing sports academies, and highlighted the expanded Khelo India scheme backed by a Rs 36,000‑crore investment. He also promised to arrange a meeting between the boxers and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
