India's Tax Authority Highlights Faster Returns, Grievance Redressal
At the 167th Income‑Tax Day celebrations, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairman Ravi Agarwal said the department had accelerated income‑tax return processing, improved grievance redressal and reduced litigation. He cited technology initiatives such as PAN 2.0, ITBA 2.0, IEC 3.0, Kar Saathi and the SAKSHAM NUDGE framework, as well as outreach programmes like PRARAMBH and Samvaad, and noted the release of six flagship publications.
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, speaking in Hyderabad, praised honest taxpayers as the nation’s architects and highlighted the department’s digital transformation, faster refunds, pre‑filled returns and increased PAN issuance. Officials also reaffirmed commitment to transparency, voluntary compliance and citizen‑centric services under the Income‑Tax Act, 2025.
