India's teen cricketer Vaibhav Sooryavanshi faces injury scare ahead of third T20I

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a 15‑year‑old prodigy, made his senior debut for India in the second T20I against England, scoring 14 runs off 10 balls and becoming the youngest Indian ever to play at that level. Ahead of the third match at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, he was struck on the chest by a throw‑down during practice, prompting a brief medical check before returning to the nets and remaining slated to play.

Former India all‑rounder Irfan Pathan praised Sooryavanshi’s fearless approach, saying, “He is a special talent, no doubt, but he needs to make sure he is ready for the plans bowlers will come up with against him.” Pathan also noted India’s need for greater discipline in both batting and bowling to compete effectively in the series.
