India's telecom and banking sectors show projected and recorded growth

India's telecom sector is projected to see revenue growth of 12-14 per cent in FY27, driven by a forecasted 10 per cent increase in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU). A report from CareEdge Ratings suggests that a calibrated tariff hike may be necessary in FY27 to capitalize on the gap between high data consumption and relatively low monetization. The report anticipates EBITDA margins will improve to 57 per cent by FY27 as the peak 5G investment cycle concludes.

In the banking sector, Kerala recorded strong growth for the financial year ending March 2026. According to the State-Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), total deposits in the state reached Rs 10,84,241 crore, a 13 per cent annual increase. Total advances grew by 11 per cent to Rs 7,81,043 crore. Notable growth was seen in agricultural credit, which reached a record Rs 1,76,142 crore, and credit to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which rose to Rs 1,08,948 crore.
