India's Uttar Pradesh and Delhi Issue Heat and Humidity Alerts
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that 26 districts across Uttar Pradesh will face humid heat for the next 24‑48 hours, with temperatures reaching up to 40.4 °C in Prayagraj and 38 °C in Lucknow. The monsoon’s activity is currently weak, limiting rainfall to western and southern districts, while eastern and central areas experience increasing humidity.
In Delhi, the IMD forecast a 2‑3 °C drop in maximum temperatures over the next three days, accompanied by thunderstorms, strong winds up to 50 km/h and continued high humidity. Light to moderate rain was recorded on Saturday, and officials advise the public to avoid open areas and stay clear of trees during gusty conditions.
