India's Vaibhav Suryavanshi may debut in England T20 series, says captain

Ahead of the first Twenty20 match against England on 1 July in Chester‑le‑Street, Indian cricket officials are debating whether 15‑year‑old Vaibhav Suryavanshi will make his international debut. The debate intensified after India’s 2‑0 loss to Ireland, which raised questions about the senior batting order. Captain Shreyas Iyer, when asked about Suryavanshi’s chances, said the team’s playing XI is confidential and cannot be disclosed in advance. He praised the youngster’s talent, noting that "when the opportunity comes, he will perform well," but emphasized that current players have earned their places and any change will be based on overall team balance.

Assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate echoed that Suryavanshi is ready for international cricket but must wait for the right moment. The final decision on the playing eleven is expected to be made on match day, leaving fans to watch closely for any debut announcement.
