India dominates Budapest Ranking Series wrestling, clinches 12 medals

India’s wrestlers performed strongly at the Polyák Imre, Varga János & Kozma István Memorial Senior Ranking Tournament in Budapest. On Day 1, Aman Sehrawat won gold in the men’s 57 kg freestyle, while Hansika Lamba secured a silver in the women’s 55 kg after a comeback semifinal.

Day 2 saw Neha capture gold in the women’s 59 kg, defeating USA’s Abigail E. Nette, and Mansi earn silver in the 62 kg category despite an injury in the final. Kajal added a gold in the 76 kg division on Day 3, winning on criteria against the USA’s Dymond Precious Guilford. Antim Panghal took silver in the 53 kg class, and Neha Sharma earned silver in the 57 kg after a loss to China’s Kexin Hong. The team also collected bronze medals through Nishu (53 kg), Savita (62 kg) and others. The cumulative tally rose to 12 medals – three gold, four silver and five bronze – highlighting India’s depth across multiple weight categories.
